Obituary of Trudy Marilyn Lavoie

Trudy Marilyn Lavoie (Steele), age 87 of Perth Ontario passed away Thursday, November 28th, 2024 at the Great War Memorial Hospital, Perth.  Born January 21st, 1937, in Ottawa, she was a devoted wife, loving and caring mother and grandmother. Married to Jack for 65 years, they shared their love of travel, good food, good wine, and family. They valued being active in their local community enjoying the arts and building lifelong connections.

Trudy lived a life that should be envied and aspired to by all. Soft spoken (at times to the detriment of Jack’s hearing aids), full of laughter and wearing a beautiful smile, Trudy was adored by friends and family. After the passing of Jack in 2021, she carried on bravely in the face of unspeakable heartbreak. Until her final moments she served as a wise, supportive, loving matriarch to her small but cherished family.

Trudy passed peacefully, surrounded by loved ones at the end of a long, happy and wonderful life. She lives on in our hearts forever. She is predeceased by her parents Amy Dorothy Steele (Hammacott) and John Ballantyne Steele, brother Charlie Steele and husband John Kenneth “Jack” Lavoie. Survived by daughter Lori and son Shawn (Lynn); grandsons Michael Lalonde, Kyle Lavoie, Aren (Alyssa) Lavoie and granddaughter Patricia Measures.
