Gerald (Gerry) passed away peacefully surrounded by his family in the Perth hospital on Friday January 17th, 2025 in his 95th year. Gerry will be sadly missed by his children Sheryl Cross (Jon), Kathy Fyke (Bob), Nancy Tomalty (Tanya) and Sean Tomalty (Nathalie). He was the loving brother to Joyce McIntyre (Lennie), Grace Thompson (Doug), Bob Tomalty (Faye) and Linda McDonald (Malcolm). Gerry was proud Papa to eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; he will be sadly missed by all his family including the Fox family and many friends. He was predeceased by his wife Susan (Fox) Tomalty, parents Carson and Edna Tomalty, sister Jean (Charles) Harrison, brother Hap (Arlene) Tomalty and son-in-law Alan Fyke.
Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St. W., Perth on Tuesday January 21st, 2025 from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday January 22nd, 2025 at 10:30 A.M. followed by a reception in the Blair & Son Family Centre. Interment will take place in Elmwood Cemetery.
He was an avid Curler for over 70 years. He was a member of both the Quebec and the Canadian Curling hall of fame. He was also invited to join the Governor General's Curling Club. He will be fondly remembered by many Curling friends in Canada and abroad. Dad enjoyed his life the past five years living independently in Lanark Lifestyles. The family appreciate the care at the Perth hospital.
