Cathy Hansen posted a condolence
I was saddened to hear that Lucille had passed away. She will be remembered by me as caring person always ready to help her friends, relatives and neighbours. To say that she was intensely proud of her children and grandchildren is an understatement. I am sure that she was a hard act to follow when she stopped working on the fudge concession booth. She looked so sweet in her outfit – the Hallmark image of everyone’s grandma. I am sure that the twinkle in her eyes and the smile that would light up a room sold a lot of fudge. Perhaps it was her training as a nurse that instilled in her the yearning to listen attentively, always showing an interested in hearing what people had to say and always making you feel better after having spent time with her. Despite losing Keith and suffering with her own health battles, she never complained and never uttered an unkind word about anyone. She dealt with obstacles and setbacks with her quiet grace and dignity. She found joy and pleasure in life’s simple offerings – a warm, sunny day enjoying the view from her deck and spending time with her family. These were qualities that endeared her to so many people and why she will be remembered and missed by those who had the honour and privilege to know her and call her a friend. Cathy Hansen
