When the phone rang early in the morning and I saw Bruce's number I answered "how's it going " When Darlene spoke and not big Bruce I knew the news would not be good. This terrible disease has killed too many of my good friends. Bruce's passing is different though . I have lost my best friend. The only brother I ever had. We were inseperable as teenagers. Usually living on the "wild " side. Yet we both survived to raise our own families. Even though our paths didn't cross that much as years passed due to job locations the bond was never broken. The world has lost a great kind man. Bruce had the gift of finding good in everyone . If he doesn't pass through the pearly gates there is not much hope for any of us.Rest in peace big guy.

Freezing in OK. Economy
One of my first memories of Bruce was at my first job at OK. Economy. The 'boys' (and you know who you are) had hung me up on a meat hook in the freezer and shut the door. Minutes later the meat manager came in, and without pausing said," What are you doing hanging around in here?" That was Bruce. After a little giggle and a smile, he kindly helped me down. I`m sure a good laugh was had but he was very gentlemanly about it all.

We send this poem to you Darlene and family with much love. Hope it brings you some comfort.
Death is nothing at all. I have only slipped away into the next room. I am I and you are you. Whatever we were to each other that we are still.
Call me by my old familiar name; speak to me in the easy way which you always used; put no difference in your tone; wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow; laugh, as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together; pray, smile, think of me, pray for me; let my name be ever in the household word that it always was; let it be spoken without effect, without the trace of a shadow on it.
Life means all that it ever meant; it is the same as it ever was; there is unbroken continuity. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near-Just around the corner. All is well.\'
