Abrahamse, Myrtle Retired Major (R) Salvation Army Peacefully at her daughter Shirley's home in Newboro on Tuesday, February 18th, 2014 at the age of 92 years. Myrtle was predeceased in 2010 by her husband of 59 years retired Major Karl Abrahamse. She was the loved mother of Rosemary (late Allan) Wright of Johannesburg, South Africa, Rev. Shirley Abrahamse of Newboro and the late Sharon and Captain Brian Abrahamse. Mother-in-law of Major Lorraine Abrahamse of St. John's, Newfoundland, grandmother of Bryan Samuel Abrahamse of St. John's Newfoundland, Captain Robert (Juanita) Wright of Cape Town, South Africa, Christopher (Liezel) Wright of Johannesburg, South Africa and great grandmother of Samuel, Claire, Carl and Marcus Wright. She will be sadly missed by brothers Earl and Bob and sisters Nina, Irene and Millie, her nieces, nephews, friends and colleagues. Friends and friends will join in a service to celebrate her life at the Salvation Army Family Centre, 40 North St. Perth on Saturday, April 12th, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. Interment will follow in the Scotch Line Cemetery. In remembrance, contributions to the Salvation Army would be appreciated.
