Surrounded by family and loved ones, Jim quietly passed away on August 7, 2015 after leading a fulfilling and rewarding life. He lived his life with admirable determination and a sense of humour alongside his best friend and beloved wife of 47 years, Kathleen (Inglis). Devoted father to Christopher, Stephen(Tracy) and Tricia(Kevin). Adoring and proud Poppa to Jack Cooper, Allie, Matthew and Mason Smith. Survived by his mother Cora Cooper and sister Jancis Elder(Bob). Predeceased by his father James Ellis Cooper. Jim had many accomplishments over his lifetime including founding and being the GM of the Kanata Valley Lasers, owner of Sluggers Sports Memorabilia Store, Ottawa Public Library board member and author of the Eastern Ontario Gardener's Guide. His biggest accomplishment was surviving a double lung transplant, stroke, and numerous health challenges with unwavering strength and dignity. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 112 Beckwith St. N., Smiths Falls on Monday, August 10, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Wolford Chapel, Kilmarnock Rd., Jasper on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Interment, Wolford Cemetery.
