I am very sad that Lanark has lost such hard worker as Art. He was the consummate "doer".
His support for the Lanark & District Museum could not have been stronger. His Father, Lloyd, was the founder. I will always remember the twinkle in his eye at meetings and, most of all, his practical solutions to problems. He also chaired a committee of council exploring ways ensure the future of the three museums in Lanark Highlands.
I think of Art as a neighbour although he lived across town. Always ready for a chat. Precious memories.
He was very excited about the forthcoming water and sewer project which will certainly benefit from his early involvement.
I valued his friendship very much.
Sincerely,
Nic Maennling

Dear Evelyne and family,
Our condolences at your loss of a life partner, father and grandfather. Our admiration for Art's service and faithfulness to His Lord are great. We will particularly remember his special care for Mom and Aunt Averil during their stay at Pine Hill. AS my Mom spent time in his family in the early years, and as his Mother was my primary teacher for eight years, I am blessed in many ways by the Knowles Family over the years, and share in your grieving of a godly man.
Much love, Elaine and Terry

Our deepest sympathy to you and your family. Art lived an exemplary life and although we knew him for a brief period of time (7 yrs)we considered him a good friend and mentor. Always quick to give much needed advice and a helping hand he gave back to his community whether the township or numerous
organizations. Although we will miss him driving down our lane in his vintage cars or attending meetings we will remained inspired by the life he led.

Dear Evelyn Paul and Ruby;
We saddened to hear of Art's sudden death. Our sincere sympathy, and prayer that God's peace and comfort will sustain you.
Our family was blessed by your gracious hospitality and friendship in 1970-71 at the Perth Church during our time of unemployment while waitng for a visa to the USA.
Often when we visited Lanark, Art would always laughingly remind us of the great tmes that Ruby and Paul enjoyed driving around in the ANGLIA ( with the missing door) that we had discarded.......Love, Allan & Joy

Dear Evelyn and family,
Sincere sympathy to you and your family on this sad loss. I knew Art through my visits home to Lanark and attending services there at Lanark Baptist. Mom always admired Art and Evelyn as a great addition to any committee or current project.
I enjoyed the music that Art provided in many services-he was a man of many talents-and always shared those talents with others.
Your friends and family will continue to be a source of comfort to you.
