Dear Family and Friends of Emily's, Emily's going to be with the Lord made me so sad, not for her now but for me and the rest of us who are still here on earth and miss her. Emily was such and amazing woman. She was friends with people of all ages from children to seniors. I was blessed to be friends with Emily as we got to see each other almost every Sunday for years because we went to the same Church. We soon started to sit beside each other every Sunday morning. She always saved me a spot, and till the day she left, though I am rarely home for weekends, I understand she saved me a spot beside her still. She was very smart and fun. She had a large library of books she collected and took care of and she was always willing to lend them to those who needed or wanted info on a subject. She had the loveliest handwriting and when she wrote a card it was quite impressive. She once lent me her cookbooks, preserves and cookies, recipes she had collected for years and years so neatly saved or recorded, that was such a nice privilege. She was so nice, every time I saw her she gave me the greatest hug and I hope I always remember that. Shortly before she passed away she sent me an unexpected little present with a card. It was a bottle of ginger marmalade, she had remembered that when we had spent time together at her house I saw her jar of the same spread and had thought it neat and said I had never tried it before and would probably do so in the future. So, some time later, she sent me a jar and a lovely message. That was Emily. What a Jewel miss her.
