Obituary of Elizabeth Jane Donovan

Donovan, Elizabeth It is with profound sadness that the family of the late Elizabeth Jane Donovan (nee McQuigge) announce her unexpected death at the Ottawa Hospital (Civic Campus) on Sunday, April 4, 2010 at the age of 67. Beloved wife and best friend of Stanton Donovan. Loved and respected mother of Kimberly (Dan) Matte of Easton's Corners and Stephen (Michelle) McGrath of Jasper. Devoted and cherished Grandma of Justin and Katelyn Matte and Victoria and Cassandra McGrath. Dear sister of Alan (Alma) McQuigge and Jack (Lynda) McQuigge all of Iroquois. Very special sister-in-law of Carolyn (Walter) Trenholme and special aunt of Brad (Stacy) McGrath, Todd (Leanne) McGrath and Juli McGrath (Scott Prout), Ryan (Hilary) McQuigge and Alexis McQuigge. Fondly remembered by Stanton's brothers and sisters Paul (Joanne) Donovan, Maureen (Glen) Lumsden, Mark (Beverly) Donovan and Bernadette (Jim) Burgess and their families. Remembered in a special way by the McGrath, Donovan, McQuigge and Matte families, her numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and many good friends. Beth touched many lives with her unwavering commitment to nursing and caring for others. She spent the last several years developing and building the North Grenville Community Hospice Program and helping to create a vision for a future building. Due to her tireless efforts working as Executive Director and volunteering many countless hours to see the program succeed, the board of directors proudly renamed the North Grenville Community Hospice the Beth Donovan Hospice in 2008. She will be greatly missed by the many families and co-workers she touched in a special way. Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Falls on Thursday, April 8, 2010 from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at the Merrickville United Church on Friday, April 9, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. Interment, Wolford Cemetery.
