To The Currie Family John was a wonderful man, who I enjoyed taking to his appointments in the taxi. His love of family and friends was evident as he always spoke of 'his girls'. Our town has lost a great ambassador and his knowledge of the history of Smiths Falls was amazing. He often shared his love of books with me and I will truly miss him May Gods strength be upon the family at this most difficult time.

Sharon, Sheila and families. I would just like to take this time to express how the passing of John saddens me. John and your mom were always my favorite Aunt and Uncle. I remember delivering Flyer's for the hardware store when i was just a kid. I also remember your dad towing me up Sanky's hill on my skateboard behind his car. I happened to see John's death notice in the Ottawa Citizen we lost touch these past 45 years or so. I always remember how kind he was to me those many years ago. As I young businessman new to the 'Falls', John was a warm and welcoming person when I first joined the 'jaycees'. Later we often chatted at the hardware store on the main street. I just want to say what a nice guy he was and a valuable influence on many. I cherish his kindness to me at that early period of my life. Casey

Sheila and Sharon I was so sorry to hear about your Dad. I last saw him at Edith's 100th birthday. Edith Currie died on March 2 in Perth. Wendy, your cousin, died very suddenly of a heart attack on February 21 I believe it was just a couple of weeks before her mother. Just in case you misses announcements, I thought this would be a good opportunity to let you know. Edith was almost 104. Wendy was 70. Sincerely , Jim (Edith's nephew) I gave the eulogy at Edith's funeral. If you would like a copy of it, please let me know with your address and I would send it on.
