Dear Donna and family,
Our thoughts and prayers have been with you since we heard of his illness these last few months. Victor will forever remain in our minds as a most fun loving and happy soul. I always enjoyed talking to him at gatherings because he would always make an effort to speak to us 'younger' cousins. We send our most sincere condolences to all of you and pray for health and strength to you as you continue to carry on without Victor. We are sorry we could not attend the service - we miss not being able to speak face-to-face. With love and care.......Eldon and Lorraine Adams

Dear Donna, Ramona, Carol, Rachel and Andrei,
Your husband and father Victor experienced many difficult but also happy moments in his life. As a young man, he had to flee Czechoslovakia and start a new life in Canada with his parents. Here he found his wonderful wife and got great children and many new friends.
We remember his visits to Pilsen, where he taught English to people outside the church. For his friendly nature he had also many friends here. We are happy that we can also belong to his and yours friends.
May God give you peace in these sad days. We think of you in our prayer.

Gordon and Norma Hutcheson extend sincerest sympathy to Donna (McFarlane) Kvash and all family members on the death of our long-time friend and neighbor Victor Kvash. When Victor and Donna departed our little community we wished them well in their new surroundings – but some leave more of a mark than others and that was particularly true in their case. Donna and Victor left us with more than memories – they left a gap impossible to fill. Norma and I are long-time friends of the extended Kvash family. The Cooke's, the McFarlane's, the Kenny's in particular. Victor's family less so but we heard so much Kvash history over the years it was almost as though we'd always known them. We were frequent guests in their Dunlop Crescent home, always a treat: Donna always the superb hostess, Victor always the welcoming host. I loved my visits "up the road." Always a stimulating discussion, many of them of the spiritual variety (it must also be admitted spirited at times), but not one of them ill-tempered in any way. Ever. Indeed those conversations are among my favorite recollections of people I have known. While it's true Victor loved to joke, to relate amusing incidents, to never take life more seriously than absolutely necessary (a trait obviously noticed by others), it is also true his humor contained no bitterness, was completely without rancor; in fact was often aimed at himself. I told him one time we might as well laugh at ourselves because if we didn't someone else would do it anyway. While it's true we often laughed at the foibles of others we regularly poked fun at one another. I have no recollection of ever exchanging a surly word in our many conversations.
I liked the man. I respected his devotion to his church, his faith, his family. I enjoyed his company and although he would object to my using the word, I regard myself as lucky to have known him. "Luck" was a word that never crossed his lips. “No such a thing exists,” he told me repeatedly. Well, call it what you will, but the world is a better place because Victor passed this way.
R.I.P. old friend. We were fortunate to have known you.

Dear Donna, Ramona, Carol, Rachel and Andrei,
My thoughts are with you and your extended family and I am very sorry I will not be able to be there with you tomorrow.
As the beautiful obituary and these tributes have noted, the first thing everyone thinks of when they think of Victor is his unique, funny and often off-beat sense of humour. It is no different for me. Victor loved life, good times, good food and, in general, people together enjoying themselves. Of course, he loved his close family most of all, but the McFarlanes, the Cookes, Kennys and I suspect many other clans also clearly counted as family to him.
I feel privileged to have been able to count Victor as one of the most colourful members of my extended family. He will be missed.

I remember Victor as a warm human being who loved to joke. There was nothing stuffy about him. Not only was
Victor a person capable of great humour and connection to people, moreover he was an outstanding Christian man.
Everyone could see that Victor was very loving to his family. He was also a great asset to Asbury Free Methodist
Church. It was always a privilege to hear Victor speak and teach. My sympathy and prayers go out to Donna and the Family

Dear Donna & Family,
Liz and I send our deepest sympathy. I think Victor made me laugh (and groan) more than any other person I've known. Me being a "left-wing, pinko subversive", we didn't always agree on things, but I don't think we ever shared a cross word. That's a rare thing, at least for me. I know he will be deeply missed by all.

So very sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. I got to know him when I moved to Ebbs Bay in the late 80's. He and Gord Hutchison were almost inseparable. They both did a lot of road cleaning in those early years. Our love and prayers go out to his family. Russ and Judy Wilson

The Kvash Family
I met Victor while working with the Wills Family at Clark Transportation, due to Kevin and Rachel’s unification (and the rest is history). Victor became the lawn groomer, closet door fixer or run a little errand, while he was there with a watchful eye for a load of Tropicana orange juice to arrive. His distinctive voice always let you know Victor was in the building, he always stopped by my office to say hello, tell a joke or a little story.
A gift on earth, a angel in heaven.

I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Kvash's passing.
I met the Kvash family when my father was pastoring the Pembroke Standard Church.
One of the many memories I have is of a Sunday dinner served to their Sunday school class. It was so much fun, interesting, and the home was full of love to overflowing.
May God bless each family member with precious memories and bountiful blessings at this time.
