My condolences to all of Ed's family. I have not seen Ed in some time, and knew him best when he was young. For years our family cpttage shared a point at Christie Lake with the Danners, Ed and his parents, Leslie and Helen Danner, a wonderful couple and very good neighbours. I was a couple of years older than Ed, but remember him as an active and cheerful young boy, enjoying every aspect of summer life on Christie Lake. Then years later, in 1980. my husband and I bought the Danner property, which Ed had left in 1970 to go to the Rideau Lakes. Since then my children and grandchildren have enjoyed coming each summer to the big old boathouse on the lake shore which had been built by Ed's grandparents about 1920.
i was so glad to read about Ed's later life, full of travel and adventure. My most sincere sympathy to his family.
