Life time resident of Smiths Falls
Laura Josephine Jewett passed peacefully at her daughter’s home on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 in her 91st year. Beloved wife of the late Allan Jewett. Dear sister of Jim Maley from Peterborough. Predeceased by her parents James and Martha Maley (nee Harrington) her sisters Lois Jean Maley, Margaret Kelly, Doris Dorman, as well as her brothers Mitchell, Kenneth and Harris Maley. Loving Mother of Susan Graham and Charmaine (Irv) Mazurkiewicz from Smiths Falls. Cherished Nana of Jonathan (Rachel) Proulx from Smiths Falls, Sarah Proulx from Vancouver B.C., Patrick Graham (Lynn) from Surrey B.C., Laura Graham from Grimsby, and Patricia (Phil) Martin from Lonqueuil, Que. Adoring Nanny/GG of Emma-Lee Proulx and Luna Martin. Sadly, missed by her many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews from both Jewett and Maley families. Fondly remembered by her extended family, friends and teammates at the Smiths Falls Curling Club, Smiths Falls Golf and Country Club and Rob Roy’s Dart League and the NFL with her grandson. Laura was very proud to be the first lady president of Branch 95 Smiths Falls Royal Canadian Legion.

Family will receive friends at Blair & Son Funeral Home, 112 Beckwith Street North, Smiths Falls on Monday, April 5, 2021 from 1 to 4 p.m. Those wishing to attend please email blairfuneraldirectors@gmail.com or contact the funeral home 613-283-2800 to confirm your time and attendance. A private funeral service will be held in our chapel on Tuesday, April 6 at 11 a.m. for the family, and will be streamed live at the bottom of this page. Interment will follow at Wolford Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to Perth and Smiths Falls Hospital Foundation.
