Obituary of Maggie Swanson
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11 NIV.
On the morning of April 28th, 2021, surrounded by her husband and children, full of peace and grace, Maggie went to meet the Maker of her plans, her Hope, and her Future face to face. 1 Corinthians 13:12.
Remaining to love her deeply in his heart her husband Thomas James Swanson, her daughters Meta Swanson (Robert Hobbs), Chelsea Arguin (Paul Arguin), her sons Karsten Swanson (Emma Swanson), Daniel Brooks (Chantal Watt), and grandchildren Katia, Jayden, Vincent, Abigail and Ella.
Cherished sister of Ronnie (Betty), Barbara (the late John), Jimmy (Shirley), Michael (Teresa), Keith (Maureen) & Kevin (Debbie) and is dearly loved by her extended family and a multitude of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her loving mother and father Mae & Clarence Shea, her sister Colleen and her brother Maurice.
Maggie was and we will be forever grateful to the Medical Health Care Team who became a part of this journey with us.
Her family and friends will remember the garden (so many beautiful gardens), singing (especially in the blue truck), Swan’s (accepted, loved and part of the gaggle), coffee pot is on (it’s how we say I love you), road trips (Optimus Prime), cakes (the bigger the better), Campbell’s Bay, Kirkland Lake, Oromocto, Franktown, I will care until you are able too, post it notes, volunteering vs volun-told (her little hoodlums), Mary Kay lipstick (red Grand Ams & speeding tickets), the triple D’s (best bowlers), I know your Boss, flamingo’s, Ice cream sandwiches & drumsticks, date night drives (sumac), Best Day Ever!
Maggie was an active member of her community and Free Methodist Church in Smiths Falls. She loved and cared deeply and has grown so many close and meaningful relationships with the people who have come into her life. Anyone moved to make a donation on her behalf is encouraged to choose something close to their hearts and homes that they feel Maggie would be happy to be a part of. She was also a big believer in donating time as well.
Due to covid restrictions a Celebration of Life will be held at the Free Methodist Church in Smiths Falls at a later date.
