Obituary of Thomas Joseph Kerr

August 19, 1932 – December 3, 2021

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our father Tom Kerr on Friday, December 3, 2021 at the Perth Community Care Centre, at the age of 89 years. Predeceased by his wife Helen (nee Kehoe) Kerr, his son Raymond Kerr, daughter Sharon Kerr (Mike Runge), and by his parents Frank and Sarah Kerr. Tom will be dearly missed by his children Rosanne (Mike) Rasenberg, Kevin Kerr (Sandra Whan), and Alison Kerr. Fondly remembered by his grandchildren T. J., Crystal, Jamie Lee (Marc), Michael, Kohlin, Kristian, Sylvia, Mindy, Ashton, Ireland, Zachary and Ben, his ten great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is survived by his brother Ken (Bonnie) Kerr, Edith Kerr-Clark (late Frank Clark), Monica Kerr-Robidoux (late Lionel Robidoux), and sister-in-law June Kerr. Tom was predeceased by his sisters; Edna (Bobby) Norwood, Hazel (Lorne) Brash, Alice (Gerald) Reid, Stella (Hubert) Gordamien and by his brothers; Jimmy (Maggy) Kerr, Mike (Genevive) Kerr, Pat (Jean) Kerr, Walter (Marie) Kerr, and Gerald Kerr. Also predeceased by lifelong family member Bob Ambler. 

Tom spent some forty years as caretaker and custodian at St. John’s Elementary School and Convent in Perth. Following his retirement from the school, he worked as a handyman for the Taggart Family on the Big Rideau Lake. He was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to relax at his cabin by the creek when he wasn’t cutting and handling wood, drawing it out of the bush with his old Taggart truck. His love of storytelling was only off-set by his love of reading the old western novels. Tom was a dedicated member of the AA Program and leaves many good friends who will mourn his passing.

Friends may visit with the family at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, 15 Gore St. W. Perth on Monday, December 6^th, 2021 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Please know in order to attend the visitation, you must show proof of double vaccination. The Mass of Christian burial for Tom will be held at St. John the Baptist, Perth on Tuesday, December 7^th, 2021 at 10:30 A.M. Interment to follow at St. Bridget’s Cemetery, Stanleyville. In honour of Tom, memorial contributions to any charity of your choice would be appreciated.
