Oh Ben... You are...must I say were... the best landlord a person could hope for: kind, organized, respectful, thoughtful, diligent, resourceful and, especially, compassionate. I looked forward to our lively conversations over a pot of tea on your regular visits to change alarm batteries and furnace filters. I marveled at your skills when you had to get down and dirty replacing deck boards, removing downed trees, parging the basement wall and doing occasional smaller jobs as needed. This sweet old century house has sheltered me for some 14 years; I am ever grateful to you, to Corry, to Bill and most recently, to Lia for this security. May we continue to care for it, in your memory.
I miss you Ben. Here are pictures of the whole gang at one of the annual Dutch-Day / Canalfest events that brought you all together in Merrickville. What a wonderful family! How blessed I am to feel a part of it. My heart goes out to you all.

As many have already said, Ben was such a kind thoughtful person. We only got together a few times a year, usually when his Blue Bombers would come to Ottawa. And usually they got the better of it, but it was always a great time anyway. We shared a lot of laughs and he would be thrilled with their OT victory in the Grey Cup. My sincere condolences to Lia and the rest of his family, he will be missed.

Our heartfelt condolences to Lia, Tante Corry, Ben's sister, his brothers and the rest of his family.
Ben was our cousin and we all had the pleasure of meeting him either in Ontario or on Ben and Lia's visit to Holland in 2016.
As visitors from Holland Ben would always make us feel welcome. He showed great interest in how you enjoyed your visit and he always made sure there were get togethers at his house or at Tante Corry's.
We will remember Ben for his kindness, his love for Lia, his Mom and his family.
We will fondly remember him for the special person that he was.
He'll be in our hearts forever.
On behalf of the whole Moorman family,
Corrie Moorman

Ben, you were a truly beautiful person, handsome, kind, and generous with an almost inexplicable thoughtfulness for others. The love you demonstrated for others, especially your wife, was the stuff of fairy tales, except it was not a fairy tale, it was simply you.
I cried this weekend watching your Blue Bombers win the Grey Cup, wishing you were here to enjoy that moment; I then realized that you are here. A light as bright as you never dies! You remain as beautiful as ever Ben, a beautiful soul now in the Kingdom of God.
I cannot believe it was just a couple of months ago that we were planning a “Guys Weekend” in Niagara. I’m going to miss that, I’m going to miss teasing you about your crappy Sabres, but most of all, I’m going to miss you.
We will never forget the gift you brought to our family, we will never stop praying for your soul, so please don’t forget to check up on us once in a while.
I love you brother….may you rest in peace forever.

What a loss! Ben was such a fine, young man. I got to know him when he started at Grenville Castings in the late 90s. We shared a love of cars. One day I mentioned that I hit a bump and lost a wheel cap on my '78 Camaro. The next visit, Ben had a replacement for me.
I've not been in touch for some years - so glad to know he married (I encouraged him) - in virtually every conversation I ever had with him!
I teased him about loving cars yet participating (and doing well) in demolish derbies.
Ben was very thoughtful, knowledgeable and professional. He was one of those who didn't need to boast (and never did), his accomplishments spoke loudly. He was a a friend to everyone and anyone.
I'm so deeply sorry to Ben's wife and family and all who knew him. May his memory be a blessing and provide comfort.

Please accept our heartfelt condolences on the sudden loss of Ben. You are in our prayers during these difficult times. We hope you are surrounded with love, support and comfort during this grieving time.
I have been working with Ben for 13 years at Eaton and he was very caring, compassionate and gentle person. When I visit to Eaton facility in Perth, Ben would always greet me and ask how my drive was. He was very patient, calm and always respectful towards his colleagues. It was shocking to hear his sudden demise.

Lia and Ben's family, we send our heart felt condolences.
I worked with/for Ben for mostly all his time at Grenville Castings and before or after his time I did not meet or work for someone as genuine, kind, thoughtful. dedicated, knowledgeable as Ben.
The only time I seen Ben upset was the 1st and last time I tried to tidy his desk. It did not hurt but I understood.
If the Lord was seeking good people, he got the best albeit far to soon.
Rest in peace my friend, son, brother.
Our thoughts and prayers

My name is Julio Gonzalez, I'm working in the same building as Lia, Ben's wife, is living in. I meet Ben a few years ago, but was enough to see how kind and adorable person he was. So I'm deeply grateful for that little time, but really sad for the early he left, God has a reason for everything, I'm praying to have Ben with God, and I know he is.
Rest in peace Ben, we will miss you.

Ben was a dedicated Grenville castings employee ,but most of all he was a true friend. I will never forget our hours in the car driving back and forth from Buffalo to visit American Axle. Ben would entertain me with his ability to identify every Make, Model and Year of car or truck that was near us. He never missed sending me a greeting on my Birthday and I looked forward to hearing from him every year in November when he reached out for money for Movember.
Our thoughts and prayers go out to Lia and Ben's family.
I will miss you Ben. Rest in Peace.

Ben was a caring, loyal and trusted friend to so many people and I had the privilege of being one of them.
We worked together for over 10 years and had a lot of laughs, he never ceased to amaze at his incredible recall of details and his logical and calm approach to whatever obstacles came his way.
He always had a keen and genuine interest in how I and my family were doing since we both moved on in our careers and Ben never missed a birthday message to me over the past 11 years, something I know he maintained with many of his friends which was thoughtful and personal and heartfelt.
Ben was always ready to lend a hand or help others when needed, which was also reflected in his charitable work with the Movember Foundation over the years.
He will be sorely missed, but I will forever cherish the good memories I have of him as a colleague but most importantly as my dear friend.
To Lia, and to Ben’s family we wish you our sincerest condolences.

Ben was such an enjoyable person to be with. His joy for life was contagious, spreading to people that he worked and socialized with, and his family. We will miss his faithful birthday greetings, his enthusiasm for getting together to discuss friends, cars, work, and his ability to accurately relate so many life events to Simpsons episodes.
We offer our sincere condolences to Ben's family, especially to Lia, his mom, brothers, and sister.
Rest in peace our dear friend!
