A kind, caring, considerate man who gave to so many. Everyone who shared memories of Mitch with me speaks of his beautiful, creative spirit. Everyone rallied around him in the end, because he inspired them to. He had an amazing community of care including psw’s doctors, nurses, social workers who all had a fondness for him & felt a real loss when he left us. I have not known many people who have left the feelings that Mitch did. He loved the Tay and changed his middle name to reflect that. Thanks to a team of people that made sure his last years had a gorgeous view of it. He died exactly where he wanted to with extreme bravery. Even in his discomfort he was the kindest man who made sure everyone else was being taken care of. Truly selfless! I would love to give credit to his beloved Cousin Sheri for giving up her life for a week to care for him when he needed her the most. She was his best friend, family, always there for him & he loved her so very much. She returned that love by making sure he had everything he needed & knew how loved he was. Also his brother Chris flew down to see & be with him. They got to share stories of playing hockey & just being brothers. It was Mitch’s last wish to see his brother & Chris made sure he did. Beautiful gifts for a beautiful man. Much help also from his many friends including Liz & Tamara. They were there for Mitch, but also all of us so we could just focus on caring for him. Now he will be able to flow with the river he loved the most forever.
