Hi Julia! My dad so loved reading about the news at Flower Station and all your updates. Because of the Facebook page, one of his last trips was to the Joe's Lake ball field for a BBQ. He loved the Lanark Highlands and all the family connections in the area. - Julie J.

Dear Julie, Dennis, Ruth, Xander, and all the Jackson family,
We are very sorry to hear about Harvey’s passing. Although he is another good soul gone too soon, it’s evident from your tribute he lived his life to the fullest, right up until his last moments. May you continue to cherish all those good times, and each other, in his memory and as you adjust to life without his words of wisdom and his big smile. Thinking of all of you and sending hugs hoping to make a tough day a little lighter.
With love,
Wendy, Bryan and Kaelyn

He will be missed but free of his pain. You are all in our thoughts and prayers as you journey through this difficult time. He will always be close by. Sorry we couldn't make it in today but we are thinking of you all. Elaine and Bob DeLisle

Julie and Dennis …. Sorry to hear about your dad
I met your dad over 50 yrs ago playing hockey and of course at St. John’s School when he and your mom would come in to hear only good reports about you two.I met him several times over the years and we had some great conversations.
What a touching and inspiring story you have composed ‘about ‘your dad and ‘for’ your dad.
Your dad and every dad would feel so honoured and loved to have his children share such a heartfelt passing gift.
Certainly thinking about you now and in the past ….. TAKE CARE

We spoke on the phone a short while ago recalling many pleasant occasions of our friendship and church connections. We looked forward to rekindling our friendship each fall at the Ag Hall Dinners at "The Corners".
So many happy occasions involving church and pancakes at Wheeler's. We will miss the camaraderie of our friend, Harvey.
Many roads we have gone down, but the saddest road is the loss of a dear family members. Jim and Linda, we are thinking of you and the Jackson family during these difficult times.

Julie and Dennis, what a wonderful tribute to a true gentleman, friend and neighbour. Harvey was always so positive and you have captured his true spirit in your reflections of your dad. We have so many memories and to name just a few… the lively drives to hockey games discussing the Maple Leafs vs Ottawa Sens, the drive to Kingston during the ice storm of 1998, the Christmas meals he and Ruth hosted for their neighbours, and in later years when we met Harvey his inquiries about our girls and their activities. Family was so important to Harvey as demonstrated by his caring nature. Our deepest sympathies to you and your families. George and Linda McLennan

My sincere sympathy Julie and Dennis. I met your Father through Verna Pope. If I went to an event in Perth where there was music Harvey was there. I enjoyed a few dances with him. Harvey always appeared happy. You have written a very interesting obituary and eulogy. Blessings

Aptly put, Mary! Music and dancing and sharing with friends were what inspired our dad every day. Just the other day outside our dad's apartment I met Verna's niece. It's funny the connections we make. Stay well and thank you for your condolences. - Julie J.

Although it was expected, it is still very sad to see your Dad's picture here. I deeply enjoyed reading about his past years, it was all so interesting, as he was so interesting. I had to laugh a bit as I read along because a lot of it, he shared with me in conversation and some of the details had surprised me at the time of him sharing it with me. Like his water skiing and water-ski jumping days for one. You mentioned the world has lost a very good man and father and I could not agree more. His family meant the world to him as you said, and I can just imagine the void he has left behind for each of you. But, so many beautiful memories! He did love his life and I think life loved him right back! For me, he was not just a client but a long time friend who will forever be missed. I'm very sorry to have to say, I send my deepest condolences to each of you. And yes, he does have big shoes to fill. :) - Brenda Dubé

So sad to see this, even though I really did not know your Dad I had; many years ago; attended a course/program for being a Health & Safety Representative for our workplaces and in all the years since I have never met your father anywhere that he did not say hello even though I am betting he didn’t really remember my name. Seeing your dad has always reminded me of what it means to be an incredible gentleman. I also have never forgotten meeting him.
My deepest respect to you Harvey.
My condolences to his family, relish your beautiful memories.

I knew Harvey through his business involvement with Central Wire as a manager and board member. He was quite spoken but when he had an idea, we all listened. He was a significant contributor to the growth and success of the company. Julie and Dennis, your love of your dad shows and completes the picture of him that we were not aware of. Thank you. Our best wishes from all on the board of Central Wire.

Julie and Dennis-
What a beautiful tribute to your dad <3 If someone felt like they didn't know him well, they must now! Uncle Harvey was the epitome of a gentleman, right down to the waltzing. This brought back vivid memories of family wedding receptions of he and your mom gliding across the dance floor like they owned.....and they did!! I also remember him loving his maple syrup on his ice cream;-)
May God comfort and guide you all as you journey through this tough time. There will come a time that your sadness will melt like the snow in springtime and all the wonderful memories will bring smiles and a warmth remembering his life well lived.
Hugs to all oxox

Thank you, Mary Pat. I remember some of those wedding dances well. I was so reluctant to dance with my dad when I was a teen, but now I wish I had spent more time learning some of those waltzes with him. It is fitting that he passed during syrup season and that gives us some comfort and a wry smile. Classic dad. - Julie J.

In the fall of 1998 I came to work at Central Wire. My Aunt Helen (Bowes) said to me at the time, " oh that's a fine place, Harvey Jackson works there". My first few months were Harvey's last few before retiring and he was busy building the critical foundation of our very first ISO Quality system. However, he still made sure to take time to ensure the "new sales guy" was trained into the art and science of wire. Harvey's experience, knowledge and dedication are still present in our quality systems to this day, and of course even after retirement he often made trips to the plant to walk around, say hello and just check in to see how we were doing.
Yes indeed we all have "big shoes to fill". May our mentor and friend rest in peace,
Tom Dodds,
Central Wire Industries.

In turn, Central Wire has been so supportive and wonderful back. They have made a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society on behalf of Harvey. Your Dad was a very kind man whose smile lit up a room. My last memories of Harvey was him taking me to to fill up bags of apples from his orchard that he was proud of. I ran into him at doctor’s office in Jan & despite being so weak he still had that smile. He fought a good fight & he finished the race.
My thoughts & prayers are with you & may you feel God’s comfort & peace at this great loss.
