We just read about RP’s passing and wanted to extend our deepest condolences to his family and close friends. We were transferred back to this area in 1998, and bought a home on Hwy 29 with an older furnace - RP’s sticker was on the furnace from the previous owner. As a result, the first time it broke down we gave him a call, and from that day on, he was our gas man, and the guy we phoned every time it broke down. As he got older, Jimmy showed up “to carry his tools.” When we sold that house and bought a bungalow in town it was RP and Jimmy who we phoned to install the gas line for our bbq, and clean our new furnace. When he became ill it was pretty obvious, but thanks to Jimmy he continued to make service calls until he was forced to retire. In the 22 years we had him I don’t think he ever increased his hourly rate, because that’s the kind of guy RP was. He wasn’t just our gas man. We thought the world of RP, and will miss him.
