My heart goes out to Kelly and Sean and the Family,
Aunts have no wands or wings,
So they work with wisdom, love, and things.
Having taken on this role,
You loved me right down to my soul.
You offered kindness
And greetings with a hug and kiss,
Each freely out of love which I will miss.
I chose a twinkling star in the sky at night ,
To say a prayer for you to it is a bright light.
You’re in God’s Heavens now and no longer in pain,
In my thoughts, you’ll always remain
How lucky I was,
How blessed I’ve been,
You were more than my Aunt,
You were also my friend.
Rest In Eternal Peace Auntie Verna, thank you for all you
have done to make this world a better place to live in!!! sending my
deepest condolences and sincere sympathies to her family n friends,
sending a huge hug to Sean and Kelly
Very sad news. I hope thoughts and feelings reach out to all the family. I am grateful for the memories I have of speaking with aunt Verna over the phone, and it seemed very familiar. Sincerely will keep you in memory. -Jonathan Pitkanen
Dear Kelly, Sean and Family:
We were saddened to learn of your Beloved Mom’s passing. We will always remember Verna for being a resourceful, hardworking soul who loved and served the Lord wholeheartedly and who championed the needs of others, particularly children and the disenfranchised in our community. She has left indelible imprint in the lives of those she has touched.
Over the years whenever our paths crossed, we would receive updates from this proud Momma and adoring Grandmother. Family was everything to Verna! Her legacy will live on in each of you. May God's loving presence comfort you, His perfect peace restore you and His promise of eternal life sustain you during this time of loss. Sorrow runs deep, but love runs deeper.
He will cover you with His feathers and under His wings you will find refuge.
With Our Sympathy and Prayers,
Roger & Donna

I was so sorry to hear this news. I last saw Verna when I visited Toronto in 2004 and she drove in from Smith's Falls. I had not seen her since 1966! However we had managed to stay in touch and it was good that she had contact with my children Andrew and Christine . She made them lovely quilts and was interested in their lives..I still have photos of her children when they were young.. I do send my sincere condolences to all the family.
Dear Kelly and family
We are so sorry to hear of Verna’s passing. Many memories of Verna are shared by our family - piano lessons, “Verna” birthday cakes, and kids programs to name only a few. Our condolences for your loss. Jeff & Susan Davis
