Accompanied by my wife Judy and Daughter Hilary, we first met Hal on open water of Lake Ontario near Wellington while we sped in towards shore as the sky was quickly darkening, waves the highest rollers I had ever seen, terrifying and then there was Hal sitting calmly on his small circling sailboat as the tiller bar had broken off the outboard motor. After turning off the motor, Hal seemed remarkably unconcerned and calm as he told Judy that he was not concerned knowing that the Lord would send someone as Hilary then precariously cast our bow line and we then proceeded to Port with Hal and boat in tow.
Safe on shore, storm still threatening, as I turned there was Hal demonstrating golf swings to Hilary as Judy watched on. Ya don't see that every day :-)
Later after getting to know Hal, I came to learn that this was a man comfortable in all circumstances, knowing that he was shrouded with a hedge of protection from our Lord, Jesus Christ and that he and Cheri were on a mission to share God's Love.
Hal will be dearly missed although it gives comfort knowing that he is in his glory there in the Glory of God.
