Obituary of Ruth Cherrill Gibson
Gibson, Ruth Cherrill (nee Annable)
July 10, 1939 – August 3, 2023
Our family is a circle of love and strength. With every birth and union more love is shared. Every challenge faced together makes the circle stronger. On August 3, 2023, our circle was broken. Our grief is deep, but we will endeavour to mend and move forward because that is what she taught us to do. Our amazing wife and mother, Ruth, passed after a brief and sudden illness. She carried out her plan supported by her loving family and sharing one last embrace with her beloved Bill. The love of her life for almost 65 years, William Gibson, will forever miss her by his side. Your daughters, Cherrill (Kelvin Napier), Dawn (Shawn Kerrigan), Paula (Arnold Buker) hold the deepest love and respect for our mom. Our lives will never again feel complete with the passing of our treasured mother. Our hearts hold a special place for you Mom. Ruth was pre-deceased by her cherished mother Emilia, father Kenneth Annable, and brother Howard. She is survived by her loving siblings Evelyn (Glen Salter), Winson (Jean), Edwyn (Debbie) and Stephen (Susan). Grama was deeply loved by six grandchildren, Daniel (Peun), Brett (Jess), Kayla (Adam), Sara (Jon), Emilia and Logan. Our family’s many memories of Great-Grama Ruth will be forever shared with great grandchildren Annie, Edith, Kieran, Ozzy and Emery. Ruth’s early years were spent in the Winchester and Ottawa area. She married Bill in 1958 and made Perth their home. For the next 65 years they farmed, built their dream home and travelled in their RV. You could always find Ruth gardening, sewing, quilting, baking, playing board games; she enjoyed countless activities and hobbies. Ruth was an inspiration to many people. She was kind, compassionate, encouraging and always striving to be a better person. She will never be forgotten – that is not possible. The abundance of love she held for her family and loved ones will always be with them to sustain and comfort them. She is deeply, deeply loved.
