It was with deep sadness that I recently heard about Margo's passing.
We first met at a Region 9 Hospital Auxiliary function in Perth. Margo was always such a fun loving and caring person. We connected many times throughout the years and both ended up on the HAAO executive. In 2009 it was decided that we should publish a book about the organizations history. HAAO is truly indebted to Margo for co-editing our book 'To Bring Comfort and Hope" -a celebration of one hundred years of caring. May it bring you comfort knowing that so many people cared and loved Margo
Blessing to you and your family.

Dear Joan - thank you for these kind words. My mother loved working on that book with you, and she was so proud to be associated with the Hospital Auxiliary. Thank you for being an important part of her life. - Mary Conliffe
Dear Canon Smith,Mary,Jeremy and Family:
I learned this morning of Margo’s passing from a mutual friend here in Sault Ste Marie and was very saddened by the news.
I met Margo while we were both serving on the provincial executive for the Hospital Auxiliaries Association of Ontario.
I so enjoyed my friendship with Margo who was such a kind and enjoyable person to be around. We attended many long meetings but we had wonderful times too when the day was over and we would share a meal together or chat in our hotel rooms.
I regret I have not kept in touch but she will always hold a special place in my memory of those times.
She always spoke so proudly of both of her children.
With my sincere sympathy,
Laurel Young

Dear Laurel - Thank you for these kind words. My mother loved those HAAO conferences, and I loved that they brought her to me in Toronto! She told wonderful stories of the fun you'd have in the hotel and the dinners out. Thank you for giving her such wonderful adventures. - Mary
I was very sad to hear about Margo’s passing. I had the privilege of doing Margo’s hair for many years. I always look forward to our visit while I did her hair. My cats love their cat quilt that she made for them. May your wonderful memories bring you comfort at this time. My sincere condolences to Margo’s family at this time.
Dear Julie - I am just catching up on these now. Thank you for your kind words. My mother always thought of you as more than her hairdresser - you were truly a friend to her. Thank you for (as she put it) all the "wonderful chats". - Mary
Margo was the spark that lit up our friendship group at St. Hilda’s in the sixties. Her ready wit and keen observation of human nature was always so much fun. We will miss you, Margo, and will never forget you.
Oh Aunt Jane. Your words brought tears to my eyes. My mom loved her S'nildian Sisterhood so much. Thank you for being a life-long friend to her. Much love, Mary
