So sad to hear of Tom's passing. I saw him not too long ago at an RTO function. Way back when, the intermediate students at Maple Grove and surrounding area schools looked forward to Tom's visit to provide them with industrial arts lessons. The younger students looked forward to "Santa's" arrival. He certainly looked the part. My condolences to Tom's whole family. May your wonderful memories help you at this difficult time.

Tom was very helpful when computers were first introduced to the classrooms and we were inundated with new curricula at the same time.... without much support from any where else. Fond memories of a helpful and kind man! Our paths crossed at the Stewart School and Drummond Central School.

Dear Faye & extended family. Please accept my sympathy on the passing of your wonderful Tom. I have such wonderful memories of our days working together at Jean Vanier School, Tom always had a smile on his face and touched the lives of so many students and staff over his career & in retirement whenever you would see him he always had time to chat. Lanark Branch of the Retired Teachers of Ontario (RTOERO) are shocked and saddened to hear of Tom's passing. We enjoyed his company at our recent event less than three weeks ago. His good sense of humour and interesting stories about so many topics will be sorely missed. He touched and enriched the lives of so many colleagues and students. We will be making a gift to The RTOERO Foundation in his memory. The Foundation supports initiatives that enhance the quality of life of aging adults.

Sincere Condolences to Faye and all Brownell&Horne families. Tom and Faye raised me going into my teens. Taught me a ton of stuff as both were super knowledgeable. I first met Tom as a grade 1 teacher at the old Elgin school. He was the only teacher to trust me with his keys to the green Scout knowing it would still be there at 3:30. Faye I am very saddened to read this from Edmonton. Tom Brownell you rest in peace YOU WERE A GREAT MENTOR& FRIEND!!!
