I met Marilyn way back in the late 70’s or thereabouts when we worked at the Sir Richard Scott Building and we were then called Customs and Excise. Our paths crossed over the years every once in a while since we both worked in HR. I really got to know Marilyn when we started working on the new Pay System called CAS at CRA. She was on the Time Team and I was on the Pay Team. Eventually we were all one team and a very good close group of friends. We went on trips together to Las Vegas (boy the memories I have from that trip), Mexico and New York City (such a blast) and also had countless get-togethers with ex-co-workers for retirements, birthdays, Xmas celebrations, actually any excuse for a get-together. Marilyn was usually at the heart of it, the organizer and driver of most events. We would also get together for paint days and now have so many paintings hanging as wonderful memories. I know Marilyn really enjoyed painting and was getting very good at it, she was proud of her paintings. She was my gym buddy for 3 years and she made so many friends there as well. Such a social butterfly our Marilyn was. Marilyn’s wonderful smile, positive attitude, friendliness and always ready to listen to any story and lend her support if needed. I will miss her so much, its hard to contemplate life without her, but she would want us to all carry on and be happy despite her absence. I know she will be in my heart forever and that gives me strength. She was an amazing wonderful person who I was so fortunate to have had as such a good friend. I love you Marilyn.
